Wardrobe Challenges

While I don't advocate jumping straight into a capsule wardrobe, I think doing these short challenges where you limit what you can wear are a good way to prove to yourself that you have more than enough stuff. While still being able to get the full potential out of the clothes that you already have (by wearing out not throwing out).

The one I have signed up for at the moment, 6 items for 6 weeks seems particularly extreme, but I am confident that with one dress, one jumper, one cardigan, one shirty top, one short sleeved top and a pair of jeans I will be able to cover most of what I will be up to 'til Easter.
There are some loop holes of course, shoes and scarves aren't limited, and my friends tell me that the sleeveless tops that I wear as tops in the summer count as vests at this time of year.
You can also wear other clothes for sports and if you need specific work wear...so it won't really be very limiting at all!

I am excited about the ease of getting dressed in the morning with less options, and love the feeling that comes from knowing that you have enough and the motivation it gives me to keep paring down.

Over the last 2 years that I have been on this journey towards living more sustainably the aspect I have always been most interested in is clothes, that´s what I find myself googling or looking up on youtube, and wardrobe articles are the ones that I am most likely to click on when they show up in my news feed..
In all this reading, watching and looking at carefully set up outfit/wardrobe/capsule pictures, I have always felt that there was something missing...no link to how it would work in everyday life and no continuity on how to get there starting from the beginning (and with sustainability in mind), so that is why I am starting this blog, to give a more filled out version covering all aspects of the journey and how it fits in with a real life.
