We couldn't get direct flights to go skiing so we decided to stop off and spend the weekend with friends on the way. We have some sterling (£140) leftover from a trip C took to London in December so we haven't had to take out any money for trains, food, coffees etc.
We are spending the time just hanging out with our friends and exploring the area where they live, we are also staying with them, so nothing bank breaking going on.
We go to the UK often enough that we don't worry about taking out the exact right amount of cash as we know we can just use it the next time!

When I started this blog I was on quite a tight budget, I was on carers allowance and C was looking for work. Our monthly budget was €750 a month after rent.
Circumstances have changed now, but our lifestyle hasn't so we still live pretty cheaply and I've decided to continue the blog.

We were never really trying to be cheap, it was more that we found living sustainbly to work out cheaper.

This blog isn't about how to save money, more about reflections on how trying to be conscious has led to money savings for me.
